KNX is a standard, not one equipment brand
KNX is used for building-automation components, and ETS is the tool used to configure component functions and communication. A design using different manufacturers still needs component-level specification, interface and function checks. The KNX name does not replace project design or acceptance testing. Phone interfaces or links to another ecosystem have their own requirements and must be specified separately.
Define functions before purchasing components

Changes to an existing installation
Describe the requested change precisely: an added function, a different switch action or a part of the system that no longer responds. The available models, drawings, project file, permissions and access method are reviewed before the work is estimated. A missing project file can affect the assessment scope and time. Complete configuration recovery or modification of any component cannot be assumed before inspection.
Before programming changes, identify existing functions that must remain intact and retain available configuration records. The modified function and its dependencies are then tested. In an occupied property, access and any interruption are coordinated. An unresponsive phone interface alone is not enough reason to replace components or reprogram the entire system; the fault may be elsewhere in its connection path.
Commissioning and project handover
The agreement defines the functions to be tested, including switches, scenes, schedules and supported interfaces, and which documents and configuration copies the owner receives with the applicable usage rights. Any additional licences, interfaces or services are identified in the quotation. Clear component and control labels and updated records make later support and expansion easier than a demonstration alone.

What information is useful for a programming change?
Provide the current and requested functions, available drawings, component models, the existing project file and the authorised administrator contact. Do not send passwords through a public form.
Can phone control be added to every KNX installation?
The system, proposed interface, equipment and licensing requirements must be checked first. Local or internet-based operation is specified for the proposed interface within the work scope.
